what do you mean it's monday again. we just did this??

my week appears to have flown by, hmm. i'm not sure where july went, frankly. i have been wholly unsuccessful in my webdesign goals for the month, but i'm giving myself some leniency on that because i've been in terrible pain that's just barely started to let up. sitting at the pc for long hours has really not been in the cards lately.

other than that though, not a whole lot going on. i did pick trails in the sky the 3rd back up yesterday, only to find myself in a minigame i couldn't beat. (more on this when i make a post on the game.) kinda put a damper on things, but hopefully i can progress more soon.

mogtome season is winding down in ffxiv; i've been doing a lot of nier runs for glamour purposes and have mostly struck out, so there's more in my future. (this is not a complaint, i love the nier raids despite how much i strongly disliked nier.)

i finished the incandescent by emily tesh and absolutely loved it; strong recommend. i've since been diving into tesh's novellas, which haven't scratched the same itch... but i think this is more to do with subject matter than writing quality. i need to pick a novel to read next, though i've no idea what i'll end up on.

that said, it was a quiet week in terms of doing stuff because i had a ton of IRL obligations last week. i did somehow manage to start working on fic revisions, but getting myself to actually make tangible progress is... uh, it's going slowly. but at least it's going at all?

since some of my IRL stuff involved sitting in waiting rooms, i picked up and read another book, hooray. i did not particularly like it, but at least it's gotten me reading again. i am now about a third of the way into Emily Tesh's The Incandescent, which is phenomenal so far and i hope the rest lives up to the very strong first act. i loved tesh's Some Desperate Glory (to the point that it was my favorite book of 2023) so i'm delighted to get to read more by the author. hoping to read more this coming week and try and climb my way back out of this reading slump.

i've been stalling a bit on playing trails in the sky the 3rd, and i'm having trouble pinpointing why. perhaps it's just that it's very different in concept from the first two games? i definitely want to play it, but i've kind of been picking other things to do rather than making progress in it. i'd like to change that this coming week.

that's about it from me for now. lately i've had the urge to get back into using physical notebooks, so i may look into that this week as well... digital spaces are more tidy and easier for me to keep up with, but i have always loved physical pen and paper, so.
